01. How do I share my tracks and folders?

Very easily!
First you need to create a user account (which is different from the guest account). Then you browse through your selection and save your favorites to a playlist you create. To share tracks, just click to share the playlist you want, enter your friend's email and, if you like, add a short message. They then get an email alert letting them know that you want their opinion on your selection.

02. What's the best way to use keyword search?

There are two ways you can use keyword search, depending on what you're looking for and why you need it. You can use our three-step Search Bar for a quick search, if you already know what you're looking for.
Or, if you're undecided and need a little guidance, you can try our Advanced Search.

03. How can I narrow my search results?

Once you've made your initial selection, we provide you with further tools for narrowing your search in the results page.
You can choose a subgenre, tempo, instrument and performance type so that you'll get exactly what you're looking for.

04. How much does your music cost to sync?

It's free!

05. Once I have licensed the music, what can I do with it? Are there any limitations?

Music is licensed with restriction on usage, depending on the user, use, format, territory, media etc. You will be asked to submit information that will help us determine the extent of the usage rights required.
The permitted scope of use and the other restrictions applicable to the licensed material shall be incorporated into a licensed agreement between you and Chainsaw Europe Studio.

06. Does your license allow me to use the music in a show that will be broadcast?

After you have placed your order, one of our Music Directors will get in touch to discuss the details. Depending on your individual situation you will be given a delivery time. This will usually be between 1 and 5 days, but no longer than 8 days for original music.
For library music, you can download the track in mp3 format. For broadcast wave or any other high-quality format, it will take just a few hours.

07. After I have placed an order, how long before I have my music?

We highly recommend creating a user account and saving the tracks from your searches in "My Favourites". The tracks can be accessed from any computer you're logged into and are saved until you delete them.

08. Does the music I buy belong to me?

Let's put it this way: we grant you a non-exclusive right (which means you are not allowed to sell the licensed material to a third party) to use the material only for the territory, period and media stipulated under the license agreement.

09. Are your audio files "broadcast quality"?

Yes, of course. We can provide upon request all types of audio files, including bwav, ranging from stereo up to 5.1.

10. What is the bit rate and resolution of your audio files?

All our tracks are recorded in 24 bit, 48 Khz . But we can, of course, provide higher or lower versions.

11. Can I use your music in a video that will feature on YouTube or a similar site?

Certainly, as long as you pay the appropriate fee according to the license agreement.

12. How long does the original composing process take?

Usually, for the average brief, one to five days.
Obviously, a full orchestral arrangement and recording will take longer.

13. What is the average cost for, say, a 20 second sting for a TV commercial?

There are a few things that we need to determine before we give you a price. In addition to length and licensing purpose, the price will also be influenced by the territory/territories in which you are airing your TVC, the time period you're licensing for, whether you want the piece as is, or would like it slightly altered etc.
That's why we offer you over-the-phone consulting so that we can determine together what the final costs really are.

14. How do I pay you - and when?

We will send you an invoice after we've established the full details including country and media type. You'll find the payment date written in the contract.
You then pay us by credit or debit card or PayPal.

15. How can I be sure the rights are clear?

Good question!
According to the small print, all the rights related to the licensed audio-video material, including but without limitation to the usage, manner, territory, period, and broadcast environment shall be expressly stipulated under the license agreement.
